Hey, I’m actually on time today! Well, I’m writing this because I’m procrastinating from packing for my teaching trip. I’m mostly packed, but I’m just not in the mood to finish. So instead, let’s talk about how your impossible hexagon turned out:

Crochet Along Week 19
Crochet Along Week ??
It’s been so long that I don’t quite remember how many weeks it’s been. It is actually week 18 for anyone who’s keeping track. It’s crazy how life gets in the way and next thing you know, where did all that time go? Well, I have been trying to get back into knitting, so that put the project to the side for a bit. And I got busy making Christmas presents for people so that took up more time. How many of you have unfinished projects lying all over the place?
So, square #17 was Maggie’s Square, and here’s what I ended up with:
Crochet Along Week 17
Late again. I was going to try to get back on track last week, but the work trip to Vancouver took a lot more out of me than I thought it would. I’ve reached the 6 month point with my new job, and while I’ve had some great highs, these past 2 weeks have brought some massive lows. It would be very easy and tempting to give up; I’m the kind of person that doesn’t forgive myself easily over mistakes. I think, however, that being in a Dale Carnegie class right now is helping me get through this. You know what? This is going to turn into a post of its own. Let’s get back to crochet for those of you who came by for the new pattern.

Crochet Along Week 16
So sorry! I’m a week late with this post. Last weekend, I was in Calgary spending time with my parents and cousins. My parents drove out from Regina with a car for me to use for the winter. Now I won’t freeze my butt off walking home with groceries! But, it’s the first time I’ve had a car at my disposal so I have to learn all the stuff involved in taking care of a vehicle.
Back to crochet, how did you do with this past crochet square? Wasn’t it fun?

Crochet Along Week 15
I’m so happy! I’m in Vancouver right now spending time with brother’s family. It’s a long awaited break that I’m grateful for, not only for the downtime it gives me but also the chance to spend time with my niece and nephew. She’s 4 years old and he’s 4 months old; I miss them terribly, particularly when Bella asks me why I can’t drive really fast to come visit her.

Lazy Sunday afternoon
It’s a very lazy kind of Sunday in my apartment today. Slept in. Lounged in bed playing on my iPad for a couple of hours. The cats definitely enjoyed the sleep-in.
When I finally decided to get up and do something, I found a great recipe on Pinterest for a pumpkin spice latte. I also found a great pattern for the next crochet-along square (hint: look at it now because it’s free).

Crochet Along Week 14
Sorry about the delay. I was in Calgary last weekend for the Alberta Association of Optometrists’ annual convention. Part of my job was to work at my company’s tradeshow booth. The more fun part of my job was to present a 60 minute lecture to a group of optometric assistants and opticians. I was nervous, especially when I walked in the room and saw about 80 people. My presentation on contact lenses was well received, however, and I’m hoping that my evaluations will be pretty good. Continue reading ‘Crochet Along Week 14′
Crochet Along Week 13
How have the last two weeks for you? It feels like time is going by so fast, doesn’t it?. It’s already chilly in the morning when I walk to work. I’m not ready to give up summer yet! Well, it’s time for another crochet square. How did yours turn out?
Crochet Along Week 12
Still no photos to show off this week’s square from everyone else. But at least I can show you how my square turned out.
Crochet Along Week 11
Well, I didn’t receive any photos, so I hope that means that everyone is still trying to get through a tough square. I chose to go the “do an extra row” route and make an extra row of circles and an extra row of dc in the border.
